The Rebirth of Cardcaptor Sakura
Hi folks!
Well it took me quite some time to write something about my all-time favorite anime, and by all-time, I mean ALL-TIME! Cardcaptor Sakura has finally came back after more than a decade of being on hiatus or when the Sakura Cards Arc ended.
The new arc introduces us to new animation (though there had been lazy animations that had been cited by fans) which is quite an upgrade from the original series and to a new plot as well. Although, I myself and other fans have noted several plot holes which may have been due to the shift of anime production studio from Madhouse to Clamp. Take note though that the manga originally created by Clamp so I really have high hopes for the new series. With the recent developments in the anime version, theories from fans are arising which "might"explain how Clamp would be able to connect the new anime with the last movie Cardcaptor Sakura : The Sealed Card.
Okay, to be honest this first blog of mine about Cardcaptor Sakura will not focus on the theories and character developments yet (I'll be doing that in my next blog posts). This blog post is my appreciation post for Clamp for reviving Cardcaptor Sakura. So here it goes...
I first watched Cardcaptor Sakura when I was in the third grade perhaps it was 2000 or 2001, it was part of the animes shown in the afternoon timeslot of ABS CBN and I only came across it by accident since it was shown around 3 to 4 pm in the afternoon and my classes usually ends at 4:30 in the afternoon, furthermore local TV news would interrupt the airing of animes from the national broadcast which made it hard for me to continuously watch it. I was then so glad that it was moved on the weekend morning slot and I would never miss an episode watching it. But because technology evolved over time I was able to watch old episodes of the anime when I was in highschool and better understood the plot, I even borrowed my friend's original CD or DVD was it of the second movie and watched the movie several times before I had to return it to her.
And last year, when Clamp announced that a new animation which is a continuation of the previous arc would be shown in 2018, I was soooo excited, it was as if childhood memories came back. At the age of 27, I am no longer that quite hooked with animes these days due to differences in genres and presentations, but when I started watching Clear Card, I literally got hooked up again. My week wouldn't be complete if I wouldn't be able to watch the week's episode. I would find any means for me to watch it even when I am not home or I am doing something important for work.
Thank you Clamp for bringing back Cardcaptor Sakura! It was a great gift for us fans! I do hope that the new series would not disappoint and would answer several questions for us to understood the main plot of the CCS franchise especially on how Sakura and Touya gained their powers.
I will be writing short synopsis for the anime episodes after this, and would do my best to be able to catch up with the newest episode with my writing.
Note: I haven't read any of the CCS mangas since I only came across it quite recently, but I will try my best to read it out and incorporate it with my future writings later on.
You're free to comment or add anything to the subject above. Enjoy!
