Frozen: A Movie with a Lesson
Indeed, Walt Disney will never bring us down with their fairytale animations... It will never lose its touch of giving real-life lessons. Frozen, has been one of my must watch film for 2013 because I felt that this movie has the "IT" factor but due to some work reasons I forgot to watch it in the cinema. Then just last week, my cousin kept on singing "Let it go", and that's when my urge to watch the movie had been revived. Good thing I have friend who has a copy of the movie.
The first time that I watched it,some lines have strucked me and that's when I thought "this makes sense!". And I decided to recapture those lines again and write it in this blog of mine.
1.Remember when Elsa struck Anna's head with ice and the king sought the help of the trolls? that was when the elder troll said "the heart cannot be easily changed but the head can be persuaded". This indeed is true even in reality. There are just those times when we have our hearts set for something and it will not be easy to let that go especially if we are truely decided. But in life, if we have decisions that are only in the mind and we are still not sure of it or that we are not sure if we really wanted it or if a certain obstacle comes in the way we tend to change our minds that easily.
2. When the king was guiding Elsa on how to control her powers he said to her "fear will be your enemy". Each and every one of us will always have fear within us. This will either make us stronger or weaker but most of time it is fear that hinders us in growing. That's why we need to know them and embrace them, for us to know ourselves more. But there will be those people who will say that we can do nothing about our fears and that's something we need to prove them wrong.
3. Another phrase that the king told Elsa is that "getting upset will only make it worse". When we're facing a lot of problems, as human beings we tend to become emotional. We allow our emotions drive us instead of our sanity/mind. And during those times, our minds are clouded and that's when we sometimes fail to recognize what's right from wrong. And due to unreasonable decisions that we make during those times, we are just adding or causing more trouble to ourselves.
4. One of my most love phrase during the movie was when Elsa told Anna "you can't marry a man you just met". Now this is just something I truly agrre on. It's not about having true love or not. What most people mistake love nowadays is that they think that it is a fairytale. Knowing your other half even for some time is worth it, so that you will also know if that person is truly the right man for you.
5. Now this is just a laugh because even my parents tell me this line "didn't your parents warn you about strangers?". This should be refreshed in the minds of the parents. Sometimes I think that not all parents are constantly reminding their children about this safety precaution. We should all realize of course that this is not only about the children but this statement should hold true even for adults. Because there are times in which crimes happen because we trusted strangers.
6. Olaf is indeed full of wisdom when he said "love is putting someone else's need before yours". I don't have that much of an experience when it comes to love, but all I know is that when you truly love someone, you need to sacrifice.
7. Here's another favorite quote from Olaf, "some people are worth melting for". I think this also has the same explanation in number 6, but this should not only be true for lovers but also for family and friends.
8. Lastly, "an act of true love will thaw a frozen heart".... Now I'm running out of words when I'm thinking of this quote :-) ... but in my heart i know the answer. Now, how about you? would you care to give me a piece of your mind with this quote?
***disclaimer: i do not own the picture above. all of these are my opinion so no bashing please :-)
